William Tetteh Botchway is a lawyer, a geologist and a business analyst. His experience cuts across the legal, mining and venture capital industries.
William began his tertiary education at the University of Ghana Legon where he obtained an Honors Degree in Geology.
He subsequently attended the Imperial College Business School in the United Kingdom and obtained a Masters in Business Administration Degree with a specialization in Investments and Risks. He was also awarded the Diploma of Imperial College (DIC) Certificate.
During his time at Imperial College, William was one of the few students selected as Peer Mentors, a role which guiding and assisting other students in their MBA studies.
William also holds a Bachelor of Laws from Central University and a Barrister at Law from the Ghana School of Law.
As a geologist, he has worked with several mining companies within and outside Ghana including Anglo Gold Ashanti’s Obuasi Mine in Ghana, African Minerals Limited in Sierra Leone and Cote D’Ivoire, and African Petroleum in The Gambia among many others.
He is keenly interested in mineral and natural resource law and has written articles on how to improve the legal regime governing Artisanal and Small Scale Mining (ASM) in Ghana.
He has worked as a mining consultant with Solidaridad, an NGO that supports small scale miners and farmers where he implemented various measures aimed at reducing the negative environmental footprint of small-scale mining.
